PlayDay is a parent cooperative, geared towards stay at home parents or caregivers
The goal of the program is to provide parents/caregivers a “day off” while knowing their child(ren) are in a safe, fun, creative and active learn through play environment. The program is designed to reduce separation anxiety, while developing important social, gross motor, and fine motor skills. It is a learn-through-play program. Play dough, painting, sand table, colouring, crafts, stories, puzzles, toys, singing, blocks, kitchen and dolls, ball time and big toy time (scooters etc.). There is one snack and a lunch, in which food is provided by the parents.
There are a total of 15 registered children attending each day along with 2 paid teachers and one volunteer helper parent. This ratio is well below the legal requirement. We feel keeping the ratio low is important to provide the quality care your children deserve. This also allows you to bring your other children with you, on the day that you are helper parent.
You may qualify for subsidy, the “Stay at Home Parent Program” funded by Alberta Family and Child Services.
